I finished the book IV, and the last one, in the series of The Cemetery of the Forgotten Books. At 802 pages it was the longest volume in the series.

The first book tells us the story of Daniel Sempere and his quest to understand the disappearance of his favorite author Julian Carax. The second book tells the story of an author David Martin and Daniel's mother Isabella. The third book focuses on the store clerk Fermin and his background with David Martin. The last book solves the mystery behind the disappearance of the villain from book III, and in the process connects all the dots in the story. Through the stories we get to learn about horrible crimes that happened in Barcelona during wartime period and the story behind the Sempere family.

While the first three stories were told in first person, this last one is written in third-person. Because of this, we can jump around the story, places, and get access to different characters at the same time.

The Cemetery of the Forgotten Books is the first book series I've read and I feel that it will hard for other books to match this level. While the series stands at a combined 2,100 pages, the impeccable writing makes it seam a lot less. Pick up the series, you will not regret it.
